Dax passes out flyers to members On 18 Oct, the society met up with Sarah Morlang at Gardenridge home and community center. The members gathered at noon at the community center to have a delicious catered meal and then enjoy a discussion on the Rhine Beetle that attacks many palms in Texas. After eating a bounty of food, we all sat back and listened to Mr. Tony Borski, a board certified Entomologist discuss the Rhino Beetle.

After the informative discussion, we all boarded a chartered shuttle bus to drive us over the Sarah's residence. This shuttle is very convenient and ensured all members were able to find the house and garden. Sarah has a gorgeous estate size home lot and all the palms, oaks and grass areas were lush and healthy! After touring the yard and discussing the various palms in her collection, members re-boarded the shuttle and we were conveniently whisked back to the community center and our cars. We thank Sarah, her daughter and son-in-law for all their efforts!

The next meeting will be on Nov 15th at the home of Phillip and Alice McBride in Rockport, TX.

Hope to see you there!
