On October 19th, we met at the Volk's home and garden in San Antonio. This was the second visit to their new home and garden and we're happy to say the palm garden is coming along. All of the palms have nearly doubled in size and garden lay out is providing a nice 'palmy' barrier to the neighbors. Per the norm, most everybody arrived around noon and socialized till lunch was served. Yong served her famous marinated BBQ chicken, complimented with spicy jalepeno sausages. Members brought a variety of side dishes and desserts to round out the meal.
After luncheon we had a short business meeting, covering future meetings and treasury status. Afterwards, JV gave a tour of the garden and presented the background and any interesting aspects of various palms collected. Post the tour, members hung out and enjoyed a perfect fall afternoon and socialized.
