Nora dispensing coffee Next-door neighbors Luke and Marian Oliver and Bob and Sandra Tumberlinson co-hosted the November PSST meeting and fall auction on November 16 in San Benito. Tables and chairs were set up in the Olivers’ back yard between the house and a wide resaca in the shade of many trees. Approximately 60 members and guests were assembled on a perfect fall afternoon. For a different twist, the main meal with entrée, salads, and side dishes was served in the Tumberlinsons’ kitchen. Members then carried their food across the yard to the tables. Desserts and drinks were served from the Olivers’ home.

After everyone had enjoyed the delicious lunch, a short business meeting was held. This was followed by the annual fall auction led by Darryl Smith and assisted by Richard Travis. The auction was very successful, and the PSST treasury had a substantial increase. Many members went home with some fine palms and other plants. Two former members rejoined and were welcomed back into the group.

The next meeting will be the annual Christmas party and will be held on December 14 at the home of Romeo and Linda Montalvo in Brownsville.
