Welcome to Caldwell Nursery in Rosenburg

decorative palms...

An amazing six-acre nursery provided the setting for the June 16 PSST meeting in Rosenberg, and 35 members and guests were in attendance. Hosts Chuck and Cay Dee Caldwell—owners of Caldwell Nursery—provided a delicious Mexican buffet lunch of beef, pork, and chicken tacos, rice, beans, tortillas, pico de gallo, salsa, chips, and guacamole, along with various beverages. The meeting was co-hosted by PSST member Ken Gutowsky, who made sure that everyone had plenty to eat and drink. Members attending came from the Houston area, the Valley, Corpus Christi, Austin, Odessa, Rockport, and Dallas. During a brief business meeting, Glenn and Rose Mary Head volunteered to host a meeting next March at their home in Arroyo City, and President Jon Watson announced that the April meeting in 2013 would be in San Antonio at the Japanese Gardens in Brackenridge Park. The treasurer’s report was given and future meetings were discussed. Marsha Clapp of Brazoria joined PSST. After the business meeting, members were free to tour the nursery which is much too large to cover in a short period of time. The Caldwells have a huge variety of unusual plants and flowers, and most members left with their cars loaded with nursery items. Our next meeting will be on July 28 at the home of Danny and Kathy Payton in Harlingen..
