December 8 was a sunny warm day-perfect for the annual PSST Christmas party in the annex building of the Kenedy Ranch
Museum in Sarita. Everything, including tables, chairs, food, decorations, etc. had to be transported from Corpus
Christi. Jon and Suzie Watson, Clay and Krystal Watson, Ed Ladd, John Dillard, and Jana Whalen arrived about 10 AM
to transform the meeting rooms into a Christmas party site. Tables and chairs were set up, decorations installed
throughout, and food tables arranged-all of this completed in one hour. Even two tables with chairs were set up on
the front patio for those who wanted to enjoy the sun.
Some 50 PSST members began arriving around noon. The PSST officers provided turkey, ham, cornbread dressing, gravy,
bread, and drinks. Members brought the usual array of salads, sides, and desserts. When everyone was sufficiently
stuffed with the delicious food, a short business meeting was held. This was followed by the main event-the gift
exchange. Everyone provided a palm-related gift, and a drawing was held for each present. All were pleased with
the delightful gift they received. In addition, a drawing was held for five free PSST memberships for 2013.
After the gift exchange, 30 members decided to tour the Kenedy Ranch Museum in front of the annex building. They
reported a very enjoyable and informative tour, which was paid by PSST. Many other members stayed to held dismantle
the party room, loading tables, chairs, etc. into trucks and vans for the trip back to Corpus Christi. In no time,
the room was returned to its original appearance. This was an extremely successful and enjoyable day!
The next meeting will be held on January 12 at the home and nursery of Paul and Kooki Crerar in Alamo, Texas.
Our next meeting will be on 12 January 2013 . Look forward to seeing you at one of the up coming meetings.
