Welcome to Guille Galonsky in Brownsville

 Sabals by the resaca

Approximately 60 PSST members, neighbors, and guests met at the home of Guille Galonsky in Brownsville on a wet and cold December 17 for our annual Christmas party. Despite the cold and steady rain, there was sufficient shelter for lunch to be served and eaten outdoors. Guille provided the main course of five different kinds of tamales and appropriate Mexican sides, as well as home-made grapefruit punch from fruits from her trees. She also provided a bin of grapefruit for members to take home. Members brought a delicious array of salads, side dishes, and desserts. Our hostess also arranged for an excellent mariachi band to provide an hour's entertainment during lunch.

Although this was a new venue for our meeting, the location was familiar since Guille's house is directly across the resaca from Romeo Montalvo and Robert Robles. The yard was filled with numerous palms, tropicals, and fruit trees.

After lunch, the group adjourned to the family room for the traditional gift exchange. Ed Ladd and Jon Watson conducted the drawing of numbers for gifts, which were opened and displayed by the various recipients. In addition, a drawing was held for five free memberships for 2012. Everyone seemed very pleased with the results. After a little more visiting, members began their journeys home to conclude a most enjoyable afternoon.
