fiery bird of paradise flower On August 23, the beautiful country home of Curtis and Marsha Attaway in Aransas Pass welcomed some 30 plus PSST members and guests. The wonderfully landscaped front yard and swimming pool area was filled with dozens of palms and many other tropical plants. The weather was very warm but not unbearably hot so many people ate lunch outside. Speaking of lunch, our hosts prepared a wonderful barbecue meal of brisket, chicken, sausage, and baked beans. Members brought a fine variety of salads, sides, and desserts.

After the delicious lunch, everyone gathered inside in air-conditioned comfort for a brief business meeting conducted by president Jon Watson. The treasurerís report was given and future meetings were discussed. Surprisingly, we already have four meetings scheduled for 2015 (March through June). With the meeting concluded, most members stayed to visit with one another and to take more tours of the yard.

The next meeting will be on September 20 at the rural home of Charlie and Lana Vieh in San Benito.

Hope to see you there!
